I love green smoothies.  Can I tell you how much I love green smoothies? I started making green smoothies when I completed my very first detox with my yoga friends at YogaPower Studio back in 2011. I start everyday with a green smoothie. Ingredients vary day to day, but a typical day includes kale, spinach, half of a banana (fresh or frozen), mango or pineapple, chia seeds, water, and avocado or walnuts or almond meal.  My kiddos like to help make smoothies and will even have some their own cup!

My smoothie making experience is only amplified by the most awesome kitchen tool ever, the Vitamix.  There is no chopping involved with most ingredients I add to my smoothies and it takes about a whole 5 minutes to add the ingredients, blend, pour and clean the container.

Eating clean and using whole foods makes me feel great each and everyday.  Adding a green smoothie to your day will nourish you and make you feel great too.

green smoothieJenny’s Favorite Green Smoothie


  • 1-2 cups baby kale or baby spinach, (any kale, swiss chard, beets greens work well)
  • 1/2 banana, fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 cup mango, fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk, or any dairy-free milk
  • 2 scoops Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides


Add ingredients to high-powered blender (like a Vitamix or Blendtec) and blend until you reach the desired consistency. Add more liquid (milk or water) if the smoothie is too thick. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
